Chokeberry anthocyanins and their metabolites ability to cross the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier

چکیده
The aim of this study was to determine whether anthocyanins and their phase II metabolites permeate the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier (B-CSF-B) sheep profile these compounds in biofluids after chokeberry intraruminal administration. Anthocyanins were analyzed using micro-HPLC-MS/MS. After administration, absorbed occurred body fluids mainly form methylated, glucuronidated, sulfated derivatives (in total, 21 identified). showed that penetrated B-CSF-B change concentration cerebrospinal (CSF) resulted from fluctuations concentrations blood plasma, although presence various cyanidin CSF also depended on chemical structure. biological fate anthocyanins, absorption into penetration CSF, tracked facilitate design further experimental procedures properties compounds, including potentially neuroprotective activities.

Kenyan purple tea anthocyanins ability to cross the blood brain barrier and reinforce brain antioxidant capacity in mice.
Studies on antioxidants as neuroprotective agents have been hampered by the impermeability of the blood brain barrier (BBB) to many compounds. However, previous studies have shown that a group of tea flavonoids, the catechins, are brain permeable and neuroprotective. Despite this remarkable observation, there exist no data on the bioavailability and pharmacological benefits of tea anthocyanins ...
متن کاملMobile and cordless telephones, serum transthyretin and the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier: a cross-sectional study
BACKGROUND Whether low-intensity radiofrequency radiation damages the blood-brain barrier has long been debated, but little or no consideration has been given to the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier. In this cross-sectional study we tested whether long-term and/or short-term use of wireless telephones was associated with changes in the serum transthyretin level, indicating altered transthyreti...

15 صفحه اولImmunological function of the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier.
Because the brain lacks a true lymphatic system, it is unclear how peripheral lymphocytes recognize foreign antigens present in the central nervous system. This report demonstrates that the choroid plexus, which constitutes the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier, is able to present foreign antigen to, and stimulate the proliferation of, peripheral helper T lymphocytes through an Ia-dependent, ma...
متن کاملEmbryonic blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier formation and function
During embryonic development and adult life, brain cavities and ventricles are filled with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). CSF has attracted interest as an active signaling medium that regulates brain development, homeostasis and disease. CSF is a complex protein-rich fluid containing growth factors and signaling molecules that regulate multiple cell functions in the central nervous system (CNS). Th...
